For buyers

Acquire EbookMit

An AI ebook business for the Amazon KDP and Etsy creator market: from demand research to print-ready files, with billing, metering and administration already built.

What the product does

Sellers on Amazon KDP and Etsy need two things: a topic people already buy, and a finished book in the exact file formats the stores require. EbookMit does both in one place.

  • Topic discovery with evidence

Pluggable data providers (Etsy Open API v3, Google Trends via SerpApi, AI brainstorm), cached responses, ranked ideas with measured, derived and AI-estimated signals and the raw numbers.

  • Full generation pipeline

Outline → streamed chapters → illustrations with a fixed per-book style and character sheets → cover. Every step is a background job with progress, retries, refunds and an AI self-check pass.

  • Publishing-grade exports

KDP print interior (three trim sizes, bleed, margins by page count), wrap-around cover with computed spine, EPUB 3 validated by EPUBCheck, screen PDF and DOCX, rendered by a separate Python service.

  • Monetisation built in

Monthly and annual plans plus credit packs, Stripe and PayPal checkout, idempotent webhooks, receipts, failed-payment handling and a credit ledger.

  • Cost control

Every AI call is metered with tokens, images and real USD cost per user and per book, with global and per-user monthly spend limits.

  • Model-agnostic

OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini behind one interface; the model and fallback for each task are chosen in the admin panel, with versioned prompts in the repository.

Revenue model

Customers pay for credits, either through a subscription or one-time packs. Every action has a credit price, every AI call has a recorded cost, so the margin per customer and per book is visible in the admin panel rather than estimated.

  • Starter$19/month · 120 credits
  • Pro$49/month · 400 credits
  • Studio$99/month · 1000 credits
  • 60 credits$12 one-time
  • 200 credits$35 one-time
  • 600 credits$90 one-time

Current list prices, editable in the admin panel. Annual plans are also available.

Operating it

  • Admin panel: users, credits, plans and prices, AI cost per user and per book, model per task, spend limits, trend source switches, jobs and webhook log
  • Demo accounts with sample books and a daily reset, so visitors see results without signing up
  • Rebrand in one place (product name, colours and fonts are design tokens)
  • Documentation: deployment guide with every environment variable, plan, and verification logs for each build phase

Technology

  • Next.js (App Router) + TypeScript + Tailwind, one web service
  • PostgreSQL + Prisma; background jobs on pg-boss in the same database (no Redis)
  • Node worker service for generation, a Python (FastAPI) document service with WeasyPrint, ebooklib, python-docx and EPUBCheck
  • Better Auth (email with verification, Google), Resend email, Cloudinary storage
  • Deploys on Railway: web, worker, docgen and PostgreSQL; migrations and seed run on release
  • Automated tests against a real PostgreSQL, end-to-end scripts and per-phase verification records

Due diligence

Serious buyers can get read access to the admin reports (revenue, AI cost per user and per book, job reliability), the repository and the deployment. Numbers are shared from the live system, not from slides.

Third-party accounts (payment providers, AI providers, email and storage) are transferred or recreated by the new owner; the deployment guide lists each one.
