Why the Sunday Reset Works
The Two-Hour Promise
It is 6:15 on a Wednesday. You are tired, everyone is hungry, and the fridge holds half an onion and a jar of mustard. So you order takeout again, or eat cereal standing at the counter. Most of us don't skip home cooking because we can't cook. We skip it because the deciding and the doing land at the worst possible moment of the day.
The Sunday Reset moves that work to a calmer time. In about two hours, once a week, you cook the building blocks for five lunches and five dinners. On weeknights you assemble, warm and eat. Dinner takes ten minutes instead of forty-five, and lunch is already packed.
Components, not casseroles
The idea that makes this system different from "cook five identical meals" is simple: you prep components, not finished dishes. A tray of roasted vegetables, a pot of grains, two proteins, a couple of sauces and a tub of washed greens. Then you combine them in different ways all week.
Monday's chicken and rice bowl becomes Tuesday's wrap, which becomes Wednesday's fried rice. Same ingredients, three different meals. You never open the fridge on day four to face the same casserole again.
What two hours really looks like
Two hours is enough because much of that time is hands-off. The oven roasts while the grains simmer. The eggs cook while you chop. Your job is to keep three or four things going at once, and Chapter 4 gives you a minute-by-minute plan for exactly that.
Your first session may run closer to two and a half hours. That's normal. By the third week you'll know which pan works best, where every tool lives, and how to stack jobs so nothing sits waiting.
